Summer 2007

Dear Fellows and Friends,

In the past six months, we have received a number of appreciative notes in which you told us that you used our materials in your private meditation or in your small worship groups.  It is a privilege to search for Quaker literature and to share it with you.  Throughout my own life, Friends have steered me to books and pamphlets that have greatly enriched my life.  Now, together with the members and the staff of the Wider Quaker Fellowship committee, I am happy to be able to repay this blessing.

In this mailing, we offer you three pamphlets.  Lloyd Lee Wilson, long-time Quaker author, offers his insights into the root of Quaker faith.  In 1992, Pendle Hill published a beautiful pamphlet by astronomer Richard Walker, Vistas from Inner Stillness, from which we offer you one of the essays.  He recalls with awe a spectacular natural event that happened when he was a schoolboy.  The third pamphlet is a short selection of poetry by two gifted Quaker poets, Joyce Adams and Nancy Thomas.  The insights of those four Friends are a kaleidoscope, reflecting the different colors of the Divine Light.  We hope that they may speak to your condition.

I would like to encourage you to continue to write us with your feedback.  As you perhaps know, Wider Quaker Fellowship has a web page (on the FWCC site) on which we, from time to time, post additional material.  If you use a computer, you may want to check http://www.fwccamericas.org/about_us/programs/wqf.shtml.

And please, do remember that we need your financial contribution for this ministry.  There are Fellows who are not able to contribute, so we ask those of you who can, to be as generous as possible.

Wishing you all a good and blessed summer (or winter if you live in the Southern Hemisphere).
