Hosted by Friends in Baltimore Yearly Meeting, the Annual Meeting will be held at the Pearlstone Conference and Retreat Center, 5424 Mount Gilead Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136, located about 30 miles northwest of Baltimore-Washington International airport (BWI) and downtown Baltimore.   Meetings, lodging and meals will all take place at this site.  There are several lodging options and prices. We will try to accommodate everyone in their preferred type of housing.

Some committees (Annual Meeting Planning, Bilingual Communications and Executive) will meet Wednesday evening and the Executive Committee of the Committee of Latin American Friends (COAL) will meet Wednesday in closed session. FWCC’s administrative committees, program groups and working groups will meet on Thursday morning from 9am-12pm. 

A threshing session will take place Thursday afternoon at 2 pm to examine the opportunity presented by the World Conference of 2012 to focus on bringing FWCC to where Friends are. The proposal is for many local events linked together by the World Conference theme of Salt and Light.

On Sunday over lunch the Executive Committee of the Section will reconvene together with clerks of the various committees, program groups, working groups and envisioning groups.

Special program for young adult Friends: Members of FWCC's Young Adult Friends Envisioning group are working with the Annual Meeting Planning Program Group to develop parallel programming for young adult Friends interested in coming to an FWCC gathering but who are not official representatives to their yearly meetings. By air

The nearest airport is Baltimore-Washington International Airport, about 30 miles southeast of the conference center. Transportation to/from the airport and the conference center is being arranged. Additional costs may apply.

By bus or train

Both Amtrak and Greyhound serve Baltimore, MD. Please contact The Conference Managers for information on how to get to Pearlstone from the train or bus depots.

By car

Documents in advance will be posted online at this website approximately one month before the meeting. Only those requesting paper documents in advance will receive these by mail. There is a place for you to indicate this when you register. You can also leave a message at 215.241.7250, fax us at 215.241.7285, or email us.

Limited financial aid may be available to help Friends who need assistance to attend the annual meeting. Please contact the FWCC office for more information.

LODGING AND MEALS    back to top

Overnight guests: The package plan includes room and board and all linens for those staying overnight.  Meals for overnight participants begin with dinner the night of arrival. 

Commuters: The conference center charges day rates for anyone coming for one day or part of a day. This rate is in addition to FWCC’s conference fees.  

Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate special dietary needs.  Coffee and tea service will be available throughout our event.

LOCAL FRIENDS OPTIONS    back to top

Local Friends are invited to hear the keynote message by Deborah Suess on Friday evening, March 19th at 7:00 pm, or the Local Friends program on Saturday, March 20th at 7:00 pm. There is no charge to attend, but pre-registration is preferred. Friends wishing to come early for dinner either night should let us know by March 1. Cost for dinner is $30.
