June E-news: Connecting and Visiting this Summer

FWCC NEWSLETTER
June 2017
New Home, Same Spirit.

We moved! Well, our Philadelphia staff moved from one part of Friends Center to another. It’s not very far but it was a lot of work. Now I think we’ll be well set to serve Friends for years to come. I also want to let you know that our address and phone number will remain the same!
We’re having an Office Warming Open House on Friday afternoon – that’s tomorrow, 6/9/17 from 4-6 pm EDT. If you’re in the area, you’re invited to stop by. If you’d like to send a gift, you can always make a donation on our website.

Traveling Ministry Corps
Is your Friends meeting or church seeking an advanced level adult religious education program? Are you hungry for an experience you can do together locally? Invite an FWCC Traveling Ministry Corps member to lead a workshop or worship sharing with you!
You can read about this year’s cohort and download the request form from the Traveling Ministry Corps page on our website.  We can only serve 15 more groups of Friends this year, so let us know soon if you are interested!
In this QuakerSpeak – FWCC video, Why Traveling Ministry Is Vital for Quakers in the 21st Century, Friends explore the time-tested practice of Quaker traveling ministry, still a powerful tool for Friends meetings to “renew their minds and wake up.”
Weave a Legacy

Have you considered including the Friends World Committee in your will? Your gift to FWCC changes lives by nurturing connections and understanding among Friends across the Americas. A donation through your will or trust may reduce your taxes while supporting the important work of FWCC for the future. Read more at our website.

Legacy Giving

FWCC volunteers needed at yearly meeting sessions
Can you help make Friends World Committee more visible at your yearly meeting sessions this summer? We are still looking for a few more Friends who can set up and take down our colorful display and materials.  We will make it easy for you to receive and return the material. Volunteers who are visiting multiple yearly meetings are especially useful!
Contact Blythe Davenport via email or call 215-241-7250 to offer your assistance.

Get Involved

Connect with FWCC this Summer
Our first Traveling Minster will visit West Richmond Monthly Meeting this weekend. Many who read this newsletter will be setting out for annual sessions or to FGC or FUM conferences. And World Quaker Day is quickly approaching in the fall.
Staff and representatives from FWCC will be at many of these gatherings – stop by our display tables to check in and say hello! Part of our business is making connections, and we’d love to connect with Friends around the country this summer.
If you get a chance, tweet at us or tag us @fwccamericas / #FWCC17!
